PARKING GUIDELINES

  • On-site parking is limited to 50 cars. Use of the off-site parking lot is required if more than 50 cars are expected.

  • The off-site parking lot is available for a maximum of 300 cars and additional fees apply (see above).

  • If the off-site parking lot is used, parking lot management is required by applicant.

  • Parking along Route 614 and/or in front of private residences is prohibited.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Pavilion & Grounds fee covers all day use of the Riverfront Pavilion and Outdoor facilities at Williams Wharf, in- cluding eight 12’ picnic tables and electrical service in the pavilion area. 50 amp service is also available for an addi- tional fee.

  • Portable toilets must be sufficient for the number of people expected and placed in the designated area. Use of out- door restrooms adjacent to the Activity Building is permitted.

  • Applicant must provide an adequate number of portable toilets for their event.

  • Trash removal and general area cleanup is the responsibility of the applicant. Facilities must be returned to their original state.

  • Upon satisfactory inspection of facility, the Security Deposit will be returned to applicant. If damages have occurred, the applicant will be responsible for the full extent of damage to the facility and any costs involved with securing these expenses.

  • Fees will be returned for cancellations if sufficient notice is given to the MLC.

  • All fees should be sent with application prior to approval. In the event that your application is not approved, all fees will be returned. If you would prefer to pay by check, please make payable to "Mathews Land Conservancy' and mail to P.O. Box 306, Mathews, VA 23109. This may slow down the application process.

  • Submission of an application does not guarantee approval. Please ensure final approval before advertising your event.

  • All Williams Wharf Landing Rules and Guidelines must be adhered to at all times.

  • This facility is open to the public from sunrise to sunset daily and cannot be closed. Thank you for understanding.

ACTIVITY BUILDING GUIDELINES

  • WILLIAMS WHARF HOURS: Open daily year-round to the general public from sunrise to sunset.

  • GROUP ACTIVITIES: Groups of 16 or more people must obtain special permis- sion for an event. Please visit www.mathewslandconservancy.org for Facility Use Information and Special Use Applications.

  • COMMERCIAL USE: Commercial use is encouraged, but separate guidelines ap- ply. No Commercial Activity is allowed without a Special Use Permit.

  • TRASH REMOVAL is your responsibility.

  • FISHING is allowed from posted fishing areas only.

  • NO SWIMMING allowed due to insurance restrictions. No lifeguard on duty.

  • NO MOTOR-POWERED WATERCRAFT, including jet-skis, are allowed to launch or dock except under special conditions with permission from the MLC.

  • NO HUNTING or possession of firearms on property.

  • NO FIREWORKS

  • NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES except with special ABC permit.

    NO OPEN FIRES

  • NO PETS unless on a leash at all times. Please clean up after your pet.

  • NO LOUD MUSIC past 9 p.m..

  • NO VEHICLES PAST THE GATE except for loading/off-loading purposes by special permission.

  • NO PARKING ALONG WILLIAMS WHARF ROAD

  • ALL STATE BOATING AND FISHING REGULATIONS APPLY

  • ALL ACTIVITIES on MLC property will be limited to legal activities deemed ap- propriate by the MLC. In the event of inappropriate activities or behavior, the MLC has the right to immediately terminate the activity/rental.
